Inspiration is a powerful motivator because, with it, most anything can be achieved. Vital as it may be, it isn't easily found. The chance to be inspired is often a fleeting one; it could even come from crossing paths with a free spirited individual that has his own sense of purpose. In a world rife with conformity, having the guts to follow your own compass is a rare and admirable thing.

Hiroshima, Japan (2002) - A co-worker introduced me to a fellow who was a member of a local yacht racing team. I'm not quite sure what she'd told him about me but I imagine it had something to do with an old photo I had on the wall at the office. It was from my pirate reenactor days in America. That's how it all started, another episode.

Hiroshima, Japan  - Trains, motorcycles, homemade flashcards, and football shoulder pads; these are the tools I use to fulfill my daily obligations. My schedule is planned down to the minute regarding workplace, meals, transportation, even my own daily training regimen. These days, my life and work are totally entwined. Central to keeping things organized is my trusty daily planner; which, I always carry with me inside of my waterproof shoulder bag.
.
I'm in the saddle from dawn to dusk often changing clothes and mounts, up to four times a day; its a busy, yet satisfying, routine heavily dependent on human interaction. The biggest challenge is being in the right place at the right time; the life of a modern day Pony Express rider, just without arrows or bullets.
